Just arrived
The first weeks after you have an address.

Plan for deadlines and what you need first
- Arrange health cover from the date you need it. Register the home you move into within the deadline that applies to you; exceptions depend on the type and length of your stay. You can work on both at the same time.
- Your Steuer-ID normally arrives after you register. If you're still waiting for it, ask payroll how to proceed. An EU/EEA account you can already access may be enough for SEPA payments.
- BundID is optional unless the online service you need requires it. Don't let it delay your health cover, registration or an application with a deadline.
